Background: The Exelon Foundation STEM Academy is a free, week-long residential leadership program held at Saint Joseph’s University, designed specifically for young women interested in energy and sustainability. This immersive program offers hands-on workshops, interactive field trips, and small group discussions with inspiring women leaders from various fields. Participants will have the opportunity to build leadership skills, collaborate on real-world energy projects, and compete for prizes in an exciting energy challenge. Each participant will also receive an iPad for use during the program, which they can keep after the Academy concludes. This program provides a unique opportunity to connect, create, and explore future possibilities in the STEM fields, all while gaining valuable experience and building lasting connections.
Who Should Attend?
The Exelon Foundation STEM Academy is designed for young women currently in 10th or 11th grade (Class of 2026 or 2027) who have a passion for energy and sustainability. Applicants should reside in the PECO service area, which includes Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and York Counties in Pennsylvania, or the Atlantic City Electric service area, covering Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean, or Salem Counties in New Jersey. Please note, children of Exelon Key Managers (E05 and above) are not eligible to apply. If you are related to an Exelon employee, this relationship must be disclosed in your application. All applicants, regardless of any family connections to Exelon employees, will be evaluated through the same application process.
