Big Changes to Student Loans: Free Webinar
The City of Philadelphia will host a free webinar titled “Big Changes to Student Loans: What You Must Do Now to Protect Your Income & Rights” on March 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. This important session will help borrowers understand how recent federal changes may affect monthly payments, eligibility for loan forgiveness, and protections from collections.
More than 231,000 Philadelphians carry student loan debt, and many borrowers — including parents who took out loans for their children — may need to take action soon to protect their income and financial stability. Consumer rights attorneys from Community Legal Services of Philadelphia will provide guidance on available options and steps borrowers can take to avoid costly consequences.
The webinar is hosted by the Mayor’s Office of Education and the Office of Community Empowerment and is open to all borrowers seeking clear, reliable information about student loan repayment and relief programs.
