Mighty Writers

Description

Mighty Writers work with students to think clearly and write with clarity so they can achieve success. They host writing workshops and more in multiple locations across Philadelphia plus Camden, Chester County, and more. View updated location information here.

See highlighted programming below and head here for details.

College & Career Programs include a weekly Teen Scholars program, high school and college readiness workshops, and scholarship and college application support. All high school participants build the thinking and writing skills necessary to articulate their next steps for the future.

Writing Workshops are developed for two- to three-year age bands (for example, ages 5-7 or ages 15-17) and take place weekday evenings and weekends. Most workshops run once a week for a season. Some of our favorite topics are: Mighty Kind Kids, Girl Power!, Mighty Brotherhood, Mighty Entrepreneurs, Act Up, Nature Writing, Family Cook Night, and Family Write Night.

Writing Mentorships are available virtually and in-person at select sites. Mighty Mentorships pair youth with a volunteer for once/week meetings. Together, pairs establish and complete three goals, at least one of which is related to writing.

After-School Academy programs are offered on weekdays during the school year for those in grades 3-8. Youth engage in social-emotional learning and topic-based conversations as they are guided through the writing process.
