$5k National English Honor Society Scholarship, Due: 10/13
Background: The National English Honor Society (NEHS) Scholarship gives high school seniors a chance to earn financial support for college while celebrating their love of literature. Scholarships can be used at any accredited university around the world, giving students flexibility to pursue the subject and school that fit their goals.
Eligibility:
📚 Must be an NEHS student member
🏫 Must attend a school with an active NEHS chapter
🎓 Must be a current high school senior
🏛️ Must plan to attend a four-year university or two-year college
Requirements:
📖 Read the required Common Reader text for the award cycle
✍️ Submit a critical and analytical essay responding to one prompt
📄 Follow MLA guidelines
🔤 Use 12-point font and double spacing
📏 Essay must be 850 words or fewer, including quotes and references
🚫 Do not include identifying information in the essay
📎 Submit the essay as a PDF using the required file name
🎥 Upload a 1–2 minute creative video answering both required questions
💻 Submit the video in .MOV or .MP4 format through AwardSpring
⚠️ Video must be accessible to evaluators
