$35k Voice of Democracy Scholarship for High School Students, Due: 10/31

Background: Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy audio-essay program has offered high school students a chance to share their thoughts on democracy and patriotism through recorded essays. Every year, nearly 25,000 students in grades 9-12 participate, competing for over $1 million in scholarships. The first-place winner receives a scholarship of $35,000, which goes directly to their college or university. Other prizes range from $1,000 to $21,000, ensuring that many students have the chance to earn educational support.


Eligibility:
🎓 Open to students in grades 9-12
🏫 Enrolled in U.S. public, private, or parochial high schools
🌍 Lawful U.S. permanent residents or applicants for permanent residence
🚫 Foreign exchange students and those over 20 are ineligible

Requirements:
🎤 Record a 3-5 minute audio essay on a flash drive
📝 Submit the recording, typed essay, and entry form

Scholarship Amount:
💰$35,000
