$10,000 Michelle Obama Award for Memoir: Open 10/1 for High School Seniors

Background: Penguin House, in partnership with “We Need Diverse Books,” announced its latest creative writing award. In honor of Michele Obama’s commitment to literacy, they are launching the Michelle Obama Award for Memoir. The $10k award will go one winning student with the best written submission. The award is just one of the five creative writing scholarships they will be launching and applications are set to open in October.

Eligibility:
✅Current high school seniors who attend public school in the United States, including the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories
✅Current students planning to attend college – either a two-year or four-year institution
