$10k Barbara J. DeVaney Memorial Scholarship Due 9/21

Background: The Estate of Barbara J. DeVaney has established a memorial scholarship fund in honor of her life. Her legacy speaks volumes through this scholarship aimed at empowering women who have survived abuse, faced discrimination, immigrated, or taken on the responsibility of being the first in their family to pursue college.

Eligibility: Any female-identifying high school, undergraduate, graduate, or trade school student who’s a single mother, widow, immigrant, woman of color, first-generation college student, or survivor of abuse may apply for this scholarship. Students pursuing careers in the medical field, trades or STEM are strongly preferred.

How to Apply: Students can apply here by the September 21st deadline. To apply, students are asked to write an essay that talks about themselves and how they would use the money to create a better life for themselves.
