$5,000 United Health Foundation Diversity in Health Care Scholarship Due 8/27

Background: The United Health Foundation is dedicated to building a more diverse workforce of clinical professionals ready to deliver high-quality, culturally competent care. The Foundation seeks to build upon its 15 years of philanthropic investments and dedication to a more diverse workforce by providing scholarships to 5,000 underrepresented future clinicians by 2033.

Eligibility:
• Pursuing degrees (bachelors) that will lead to careers as clinical professionals that may include: Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Nurse, Pharmacist, Dentist, Social Worker, Addiction Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, or related clinical profession
• Must have at least two years of study before their anticipated degree completion date
• Present evidence of financial need
• Enrolled in an accredited academic institution in the United States as either a full-time or part-time student, in-person or virtual attendance
• Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Identifies as Black/African American, Hispanic/ Latino, Native American/ Alaska Native, or Asian or is focused on the health of these communities or other underrepresented racial/ethnic groups
• Not possess a degree from, or be enrolled in, a 2 or 4–year college when applying

How to Apply: Students can register and apply here by the August 27th deadline. To apply, students are asked to submit references and write a 500 word essay on the prompt provided.
