Upcoming Deadlines this Week (7/28): Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Opportunities

The Thurgood Marshall Fund has a few scholarships with deadlines at the end of this week on July 28th. Check out the list below to learn more about each scholarship with applications due at the end of the week.

1. WELLS FARGO EMERGENCY SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline: Friday, July 28th

Background:  Sixty (60) scholars will be selected to receive a fall emergency gap scholarship of up to $1000 for the 2023-2024 academic school year. Selected students must be in good academic standing, but at risk of not returning or graduating from college due to an outstanding financial need, and/or emergency situation that leads to a financial aid crisis.

Eligibility: This scholarship is open to current, full-time undergraduate students with a 2.75+ GPA. Applicant must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the US, have an unpaid student account balance of up to $1000, and be enrolled at a TMCF member-school during the 2023-2024 academic school year.

How to Apply: Students can register and apply here by the July 28th deadline. To apply, students are asked to submit a 2 minute video explaining their financial need and why it’s important to receive the funding. For important details, see the guidelines here.

2. SANOFI NEXT GEN SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline: Friday, July 28th

Background: Fifty (50) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship up to $15,000 for the 2023-2024 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility: This scholarship is open to current, full-time undergraduate students with a 3.0+ GPA. Applicant must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the US. Enrolled in a healthcare or related majors or field of study such as STEM; Public Health; Finance; Marketing/Sales; IT/Digital and others as agreed upon prior to launching the scholarship. Students should be enrolled at a TMCF member-school during the 2023-2024 academic school year.

3. NCB HBCU SCHOLARSHIP (IN HONOR OF CHUCK SNYDER)

Application Deadline: Friday, July 28th

Background: The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and National Cooperative Bank (NCB) are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 53 publicly-supported HBCUs, PBIs, medical and law schools, or one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These will be need based scholarships up to $5,000 for the 2023/2024 academic school year.

Eligibility: This scholarship is open to current, full-time undergraduate students with a 3.0+ GPA. Applicant must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the US. Students should be enrolled at a TMCF member-school during the 2023-2024 academic school year and have a ability to demonstrate strong leadership abilities.

4. JCDRP FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline: Friday, July 28th

Background: The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and National Cooperative Bank (NCB) are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 53 publicly-supported HBCUs, PBIs, medical and law schools, or one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These will be need based scholarships up to $7,500 for the 2023/2024 academic school year.

Eligibility: This scholarship is open to current, full-time undergraduate students with a 3.0+ GPA. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551. Students should be enrolled at a TMCF member-school during the 2023-2024 academic school year and have a ability to demonstrate a financial need.

5. CARGILL-TMCF THRIVE SCHOLARS

Application Deadline: Friday, July 28th

Background: The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and National Cooperative Bank (NCB) are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 53 publicly-supported HBCUs, PBIs, medical and law schools, or one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These will be merit based scholarships up to $4,1000 for the 2023/2024 academic school year.

Eligibility: This scholarship is open to current, full-time undergraduate students with a 3.0+ GPA studying agriculture or STEM. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551. Students should be enrolled at a TMCF member-school during the 2023-2024 academic school year and have a ability to demonstrate a financial need.

7. SALLIE MAE FUND COMPLETING THE DREAM GAP SCHOLARSHIP

Application Deadline: Friday, July 28th

Background: Two Hundred Sixty (260) students completing a two-year, four-year, or trade/vocational certificate/certification program will be selected to receive a gap scholarship of $2,500 for the 2023-2024 academic school year. Selected students must be in good academic standing, but at risk of not returning to or graduating/completing due to an outstanding financial need, and/or emergency situation that leads to a financial aid crisis.

8. ALTRIA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Application Deadline: Friday, July 28th

Background: The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and National Cooperative Bank (NCB) are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 53 publicly-supported HBCUs, PBIs, medical and law schools, or one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Twenty-five (25) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship up to $2,000 for the 2023-2024 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).

Eligibility: This scholarship is open to current, full-time undergraduate students with a 3.0+GPA. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
