Caminos al Futuro Free Pre-College Program for Hispanic High School Juniors: Apply by 3/5

January 30, 2023

Overview: George Washington University’s Caminos al Futuro is a no-cost, pre-college and residential summer program. To be eligible, you must be a rising senior at a U.S. high school with a high-level of academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to service and leadership within the Latino/Hispanic community.

Details: During the three-week intensive program, Caminos scholars examine the social, economic and political transformations affecting the Hispanic/Latino community in a college-like environment. Participants get a first-hand view of policymaking in the nation’s capital with visits to Congress, government agencies and leading non-profits. The program also includes lectures and small-group meetings with university professors and national Latino leaders.

Eligibility: The program is open to students currently attending high school in the United States who will have finished their junior year by Summer 2023 and who have demonstrated their commitment to the Hispanic/Latinx community. Citizenship is not considered, but students must reside within the United States.

How to Apply: Students can apply here by the March 5th deadline. Required materials include your transcript, three short essay responses, and a recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor (you will need to enter their name, email, and organization/institution).
