$25,000 Samuel A. Green Scholarship for Philadelphia High School Seniors Due 3/1

Background: This scholarship honors Firstrust Bank Founder, Samuel A. Green, who was a staunch believer in encouraging young people to pursue their education and fulfill their dreams. Scholars will receive two-year awards ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 towards their first two years of college. Those attending community college are eligible to receive awards ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. This year, a total of $360,000 will be awarded.

Eligibility:
• graduating high school senior or GED recipient in the Greater Philadelphia or Lehigh Valley area who plans to be a a full-time student at a community or four-year college
demonstrates leadership potential and a fierce commitment to making a substantial impact in their community
legal U.S. resident or citizen
applicants must not be already attending college or be over 30 years old as of March 1st

How to Apply: Apply here by the March 1st deadline. To apply, students are asked to submit a 300-word or less essay in response to the prompt provided. If you are selected as one of the 100 semi-finalists, you will be asked to submit your high school transcript and a letter of recommendation that speaks to your demonstrated leadership.
