Seeds of Fortune: FREE College Prep Program for High School Women of Color

Overview: Seeds of Fortune Inc. is the largest online college prep program for young women of color. The program provides 10-12th graders an exclusive network to find affordable college options, build financial literacy, engage in career exploration, and develop career skills.

So far, over 1,000 students have participated in the program and since 2019, Seeds of Fortune has accomplished a 100% college graduation rate. About 80% of their participants have two thirds of their college experience covered by scholarships.

Programs: Their programs include their College-Prep Online Network, Seed University, and Yale Women in Economics. All programming is FREE with the exception of a one-time $75 commitment fee for those accepted to the 2023-2024 Yale Women in Economics Scholarship Program. Financial aid is available by request for those who are not able to meet the $75 commitment fee.

Upcoming Deadlines: Submit your application to the Yale Women in Economics program by the priority deadline of December 31st and final deadline of January 17th. Applicants must be current high school juniors or seniors with a 3.0+ GPA attending public or Catholic school and a household income not to exceed $125,000. All majors of interest are welcome.
