P.O.W.E.R Construction Pre-Apprenticeship for Philadelphia PHA/Section 8 Residents

Receive free vocational training, industry certifications, paid incentives, and opportunity for employment through the P.O.W.E.R Program. The program is offered through Trades for a Difference, in partnership with The Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC).

Participants in this 7-week Pre-Apprenticeship program will learn the basics of construction while identifying their desired career pathway within the construction industry (Carpentry, Plumbing, or Electric).

After completing the Core Program, students will receive 6 industry certifications. Apprentices will go through a series of hiring job fairs with ABC members for employment in their selected trade pathway.

Eligibility: 
• Be a PHA resident or have a Section 8 Voucher
• Be 18 years or older
• Have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Have a strong interest in joining the construction industry
