Our Mothers’ Kitchens FREE Summer Workshop for Black Girls Ages 11-17

Our Mothers’ Kitchens Summer Workshop is open to young black girls, ages 11-17, interested in cooking and creative writing. The camp is free and runs from Saturday, August 6th to Monday, August 8th from 9am-4:30pm at Sankofa Community Farm at Bartram Gardens. Participants will:

• Learn about the importance of food in black history and culture
• Share food stories through creative writing activities
• Learn basic cooking skills, recipes and kitchen hacks
• Read the works of Zora Neale Hurston, Alice Walker and more
