$6,200 Walmart Scholarship for First-Gen HBCU Freshman Due 4/4

Background: The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and the Walmart Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding first-generation students attending one of TMCF 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or a Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Sixty-one scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship up to $6,200 for the 2022-2023 academic school year.

Eligibility:
• 
Be enrolled full-time as a freshman at a TMCF member-school during the 2022-2023 academic school year.
• Be a first-generation college student (first person in your immediate family to attend college).
• Current cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher from high school.
• Must have submitted a completed 2022-2023 FAFSA to your current or prospective College or University.
• Able to demonstrate a financial need.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

How to Apply: Apply here by the April 4th deadline. Along with a professional or graduation headshot, applicants are asked to answer the following statement via a max two-minute video: What would it mean to you and your community to be the first person in your family to earn a college degree?
