$22,500 TE Connectivity African Heritage Scholarship Program Due 8/30

Apply by August 30th to the TE Connectivity African Heritage Scholarship Program. Up to 14 recipients will be awarded up to $22,500 per year in each of the next two years upon successful completion of the paid summer internships. Award amounts will be determined based on the total cost of tuition and fees minus other granted awards at the time of the application deadline. Award recipients will also be given access for a year to WhichWay, a financial literacy tool with interactive financial education modules.

Background:
TE Connectivity has established a 2-year scholarship program to assist college students who will be sophomores for the 2021-2022 academic year and are majoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Operations Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or Information Technology. The program provides a college scholarship paired with career development, including a required PAID internship with TE Connectivity for two summers after the sophomore year of college. Eligibility:
Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Self-identify as Black, African American, or multiracial (applicants who self-identify as more than one race/ethnicity are eligible as long as one of the races/ethnicities is Black or African American)
• Be enrolling as college sophomores for the 2021-2022 academic year. Be enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university (in the U.S.) planning to continue full-time enrollment for the entire upcoming academic year
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
•  Be majoring in STEM, Operations Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or Information Technology
• Be willing to accept a 2022 summer paid internship with TE Connectivity (recipients- both new and renewal- must complete a summer paid internship to receive their award disbursement the following fall)

How To Apply:
• 
A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken
• A copy of the latest 1040 tax filing
• One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than September 2, 2021 3:00 pm Central Time.
•  Max 1,000 character response to the prompt: Please describe any challenges you’ve faced and overcome as a student. How have they affected your academic performance and/or participation in school and community activities? What steps did you take to overcome these challenges? Note that the essay is measured in characters as opposed to words.
