Student Volunteer Opportunity: TechGirlz

Calling high school and college students! Volunteer with TechGirlz to “inspire and empower the next generation of women in tech! Build your marketable skills like public speaking, teaching and tech know-how, and expand your network while volunteering with others in the tech industry.” See details below:

About:
TechGirlz is a nonprofit program that inspires middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers. TechGirlz is accomplishing its mission through the creation of free, fun, interactive “TechShopz” led by industry professionals, community leaders, and students. Their vision is to create a world where girls have a lifelong passion and confidence in their use of technology throughout their careers.

Virtual Volunteer Opportunities:
Before returning in-person to middle and high schools, libraries, and community centers, TechGirlz will continue to run virtual workshops this winter. Head to their volunteer page to learn more about and apply for the opportunities available. Opportunities include:

Volunteer as a teaching assistant for:
• Photography And Infographics Camp
• Think Like A Digital Designer: Unplugged
• Introduction To JavaScript
• Computer Programming With C++

Or, volunteer to:
• Assist with curriculum development by updating, reviewing, and/or proofreading workshop plans and slides.
• Help spread the word by sharing social media posts and sending flyers to your local schools, community centers, and libraries.
• Write a blog post for TechGirlz.Org
• Organize a camp or lead your own workshop!
• Serve as a lead instructor for an existing workshop on a topic that hasn’t run often.
