College Mentoring for First Year Students

First year students at the following universities have the opportunity to be mentored individually by an upperclassman from their campus through the Next Steps AmeriCorps Program:

•Kutztown University
•Cabrini University
•Temple University
•Community College of Philadelphia
•Cheyney University
•Arcadia University

To participate, complete the following application form. While there is not a defined deadline to apply, the sooner a student applies the better as the number of slots available is limited.

Commitment:
· At least 1 hour per week for Fall and Spring term (Matches will not start until the beginning of the school year, September).
· Must be face to face mentoring (unless Fall is still virtual).
· Attend monthly professional development sessions on campus.

Mentors will assist students in:
· Making a plan for the remainder of the semester.
· Finding resources on campus.
· Managing your Fall and Spring courses in preparation for final projects, assignments and exams.
· Time management.
· Goal setting.
· Financial literacy info such as budgeting, managing loans and learning about FAFSA.
· And more!
