Begin a Career in the Culinary Arts: Virtual Open House

Virtual Open House – August 3rd and August 10th

 

Join a virtual open house to learn more about the opportunities available through Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK), an adult vocational training program in which students learn entry-level, hands-on and classroom-based culinary and kitchen operations, including safe food handling, knife skills, meat and poultry fabrication, cooking methods and recipe development.

The program is free to all adults who are eligible for SNAP benefits. PCK is seeking applicants who are 18 years or older. While experience in food service is a plus, students do not need previous food service experience.

Successful graduates complete the program with a Manager’s ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate,  a certificate of completion, and eight college credits transferable to Community College of Philadelphia (towards certificate or Associates in culinary arts.)

PCK provides students with a uniform, materials, books, computer/internet access (at the school) and life/employment coaching services during and after graduation. PCK staff also assists in obtaining successful employment following graduation for up to two years.

The program will run from Monday-Friday 7:45 AM – 3:30 PM for from August 31, 2020 through December 18, 2020, and takes place at 2224 N 10th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19133.
