$8K National Federation of the Blind Scholarship for Blind College-Bound Students, Due: 3/31

Background: Thanks to generous partners, 30 $8,000 scholarships are available for outstanding students who are legally blind. These scholarships recognize academic excellence, leadership, and community service. Finalists are announced in spring and attend the National Federation of the Blindโ€™s (NFB) convention in July, where winners are chosen. Past winners have gone on to careers in technology, law, and international relations.


Eligibility:
๐Ÿ‘๏ธโ€๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ Must be legally blind
๐Ÿก Must live in the U.S., D.C., or Puerto Rico
๐ŸŽ‚ Must be 18+ by July 8, 2025
๐ŸŽ“ Must be enrolled in a U.S. college full-time (some part-time students may qualify)
โœˆ๏ธ Must attend the NFB National Convention in July

Requirements:
๐Ÿ“ Complete the online application form in the APPLY HERE section below
๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ Write a 700-word essay
๐Ÿ“œ Submit at least one letter of recommendation
๐Ÿ“š Provide transcripts from all schools attended
๐ŸŽฏ High school seniors: Submit ACT/SAT scores (if available)
๐Ÿ‘€ Proof of legal blindness from a certified professional
๐Ÿ“ž Interview with an NFB state affiliate president
