Study Tuition-Free at Drexel: Liberty Scholars Program

September 26, 2022

Overview: For over a decade, the Drexel Liberty Scholars program has helped to break down the barriers to higher education for Philadelphia-based students. Starting with the 2021–2022 academic year, Drexel is expanding this opportunity to eligible students across the U.S. and strengthening its impact by focusing on recruiting students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Award: Through the program, Drexel provides 65 recent high school graduates with a renewable scholarship award that covers 100 percent of tuition and fees. Additionally, the program fosters student success through a dedicated faculty or staff mentor, a Living Learning Community in which all scholars live during their first two years, extracurricular and developmental programming, and active engagement with campus life.

Eligibility:
• must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• have demonstrated financial need (Drexel uses the CSS Profile to determine the financial eligibility of applicants)
• be a first-year Drexel University applicant
• open to any major as long as it is an on-campus, full-time, undergraduate program

Important Deadlines: A list of important deadlines can be found here. While deadlines for the FAFSA and the Regular Decision Application may not be until January or February, do not wait! Begin early to ensure that your required materials are submitted on time.

How to Apply: You can find a breakdown of the application process and additional scholarship details here.
