FREE PECO Gas Technician Training Program Starting 9/28
PECO has partnered with the Energy Coordinating Agency to provide career training for hiring Gas Technicians.
This free program is open to residents in all five PECO regions. A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Orientation: Thursday, September 28, 2022 at 9am
• Start Date: Monday, October 3, 2022, 9am-3pm
• This is an 11-week course with classes held from 9am-3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
• Training Location: Energy Coordinating Agency at 106 W. Clearfield Street, Philadelphia PA 19133

Career Pathway: Gas Technicians have a wide range of responsibilities, such as: installing and repairing gas meters to measure gas consumption. Maintaining gas equipment such as piping, valves, gauges, regulators, and meters. Inspecting underground natural gas storage facilities for leaks, corrosion, erosion, and other defects. Repairing or replacing damaged pipelines and other equipment.
The salary trajectory of a Gas Technician ranges between locations and employers, but typically, the salary starts at $45,130 per year and goes up to $57,701 per year for the highest level of seniority.
