Fab Youth Philly Hiring Students Ages 15-19 for Summer “Play Captains”

Looking for a job? Looking to make a difference in Philadelphia’s neighborhoods? Become a Fab Youth Philly Play Captain! Being a Play Captain is kind of like being a Camp Counselor, right in your own neighborhood.

In Philadelphia every summer, there are over 500 streets designated as “Play Streets,” which are streets closed off to traffic where neighborhood children can receive a meal and play together. In order to make those Play Streets more playful, Fab Youth Philly created the Play Captain Initiative, which is a summer job for teens. Those teens will create and lead play activities on a number of Play Streets throughout Philadelphia. This summer, Play Captains will also lead games at a small number of parks and playgrounds.

All Play Captains must:
• Love being outdoors in all summer weather
• Love playing with children 4-13 years old
• Be 15-19 years old by July 1, 2022
