April 18, 2022

From carpentry to ironwork, plumbing to masonry, The City of Philadelphia 2022 Apprenticeship Guidebook has you covered.

The guidebook (compiled by Philadelphia City Councilmember At-Large Katherine Gilmore Richardson) aims to “help career seekers better understand the apprenticeship process and answer questions about the opportunities available across the City of Philadelphia.” Throughout the guide, “you will find information on the different types of programs available and when and how to apply, as well as what type of careers are available within each industry.”

The guidebook goes on to note that, “Apprenticeship programs open the door to opportunities and provide you with the training you need to succeed. The average starting salary for an apprentice is $60,000 per year, roughly $20,000 higher than the average salary in Philadelphia.”
