$6,000 Lead with Languages Scholarship for Future Language Educators Due 5/27

Background: The Lead with Languages Teacher Scholarship Program is dedicated to addressing a critical national shortage by bolstering the pipeline of future language educators. The program provides recipients with an award of $1,500 per academic year, renewable up to three times for a total of $6,000. Winners will also receive an ACTFL membership—which includes access to the ACTFL Mentoring Program aimed at early-career language educators.

Eligibility:
• Be a high school senior accepted and planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. postsecondary institution, leading to credentialing as a language educator
• Have taken at least two years of the same language in high school, or present documentation of proficiency results
• Have maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA overall (on a 4.0 scale)
• Be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident attending a U.S. high school

How to Apply: Students can apply here by the May 27th deadline. Required materials include:
• Transcript
• College acceptance letter
• 200 word or less essay on the prompt provided
• One letter of recommendation (review important letter of recommendation guidelines here)
