$2,000 Achievers in Tech Scholarship & Mentorship for Students of African Descent Due 5/7

Background: Sankofatech’s Achievers in Technology (AIT) is a rigorous four-year scholarship and mentorship program that aims to produce the next generation of African technology professionals in the United States. AIT scholars go through a rigorous four-year program that equips them with essential skills and access to a network of like-minded peers, mentors, advisors, and accomplished professionals in the tech industry. AIT scholars will receive:

• An annual $500 scholarship award (up to $2000)
• Personalized career mentor(s) from top tech companies
• Job readiness training (e.g., mock job interviews, resume reviews)
• Access to a network of diverse tech professionals
• Site visits to tech companies
• Virtual webinars related to career and personal development
• Opportunity to work on a project that benefits your community

• Be entering a U.S. college or university as a first-year student in the 2022-2023 academic year
• Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a tech career (ie. Software Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, Information Security, Project/Program Management, Networking, Database Administration, etc.)
• Be of African descent
• Come from a low-income household
