$1,000 Nancy Larson Scholarship for Elementary Education Majors Due 11/15

Apply by November 15th to the Nancy Larson Foundation College Scholarship. Five recipients will be selected and each will receive a $1,000 award.

Background: The Nancy Larson Foundation was established by Nancy Larson to encourage and support prospective teachers. Larson is the author of the nationally successful Saxon Math K–4. She formed Nancy Larson Publishers, Inc. in 2004 with the goal of providing engaging and challenging programs in content areas beyond mathematics.

Eligibility:

• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior or senior, or graduate student with a declared major in elementary education or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled and attending school for the Spring semester or quarters immediately following the scholarship award process.

How to Apply:

• Complete a brief online application
•  Submit an official transcript
•  Submit a résumé showing employment history, activities and community service, and paid positions and/or internships involving work with children
•  Submit a 500 words or less personal narrative responding to the questions: What personal experiences have inspired you to become a teacher? What personal traits do you possess that will help you in your teaching career?
